RIP Soli Philander ❤️❤️❤️

Saluting a legend of the South African arts. Soli Philander’s wit and warmth brought our shared stories to life on stage and air. His legacy will continue to inspire the next generation of artists in the Western Cape and beyond. 🕊️

In 1994, Jason Weaver was just a teenager when he recorded the singing voice of young Simba in The Lion King.

Disney reportedly offered him $2 million upfront.

Most people would have signed immediately.

Instead, his mother encouraged him to take a smaller upfront payment plus royalties.

That decision changed everything.

Thirty years later, he is still receiving checks from the film’s soundtrack. While a one-time $2M payday would have been nice, the long-term earnings from royalties have continued to grow as the movie became one of the most successful animated films of all time.

It’s a powerful reminder that ownership and backend participation can outperform quick cash.

Short-term money feels good.

Long-term money builds wealth.

Smart move.

They Tried to Cancel Her in America for being a proud pretty coloured girl from Joburg after her Breakfast Club interview and they tried they best to push the narratives that her career is done in America forgetting she is Not an American artist but a Global superstar and the world is bigger than America

They said she was a certified one hit wonder and when “WATER” dries up, she is done

“PUSH2START” drops and instantly became a global hit too

And now she has one of the biggest global hit in the world right now since 2025 “CHANEL”

2024; “WATER” won a GRAMMY

2026; “PUSH2START” jus won a GRAMMY

2027; “CHANEL” is winning a GRAMMY

It’s Tyla against All Your Favorite Nigerian Superstars and she is already out scoring the whole White & Green Nation
