Loom knitting is having a 'moment' & this young girl did a beautiful thing with it! Long may her knitting love last

What started as a Cub Scout challenge turned into something incredibly beautiful 🥰

For her Leaping Wolf Personal Challenge, young Grace decided she didn’t just want to earn a badge… she wanted to help people too.

So she taught herself how to knit using a loom. But then she took it even further.

Grace started raising funds for wool and extra looms, taught other Cubs and friends how to knit alongside her, and before long, an entire little community had formed around making tiny beanies for premature babies at Mowbray Maternity Hospital.

And honestly… there’s just something so special about that.

Tiny hats, made by caring hands, for tiny babies fighting their very first battles in life.

What we love most is how one small idea snowballed into something much bigger. Scouts, leaders, parents, and community members all got involved, learning together and creating something filled with warmth, kindness, and heart.

And somewhere in Cape Town right now, there are vulnerable little newborns being wrapped in love because one young girl decided to make her project matter.
