***HE HAD IT COMING***
In the tradition of other one-person satirical r***es by the writer (Bafana Republic, Pay Back the Curry, State Fracture and Land Acts), He had it coming is a multi-sketch r***e that combines drama, singing and poetry in making pointed commentary about contemporary themes in the South African social and political landscape.
Various woman character sketches have been extracted from other r***es to make up He had it coming, with a couple of new sketches that will be performed for the first time as part of this play. The multi-sketch nature of the piece allows for sketches that become dated to be replace by new, more relevant and up-to-date sketches.

a synopsis of 3 consecutive nights of hearing a great musical voice from the cape ... Ramon Alexander’s music often makes me cry, because i experience a sense of awe and admiration. A kind of wonder at realizing what he is capable of creating, playing as he does, to showcase his people's music, through the language of cape jazz and the unmistakably cape ghoema rhythms. In response to these emotions, i remember our great jazz musicians of the past, and their contribution in shaping our culture. His passion is obvious at once, and so in turn, his music demands my attention immediately! He plays his own songs, as if he sings OUR tunes that live in our hearts. And, in an age where language has the tendency to isolate and exclude, his music provides us with a universal language emotionally, and communicates to our shared humanity what say you who were there over the weekend? Using Music, the universal language, to showcase South Africa’s cultural heritage as a learning & discovery experience for international tourists and local music lovers alike.
The Daily Music Show
A WORLD-FIRST in the tourism & music industries
Rationale & Unique Features
(1) A DAILY music show that showcases our cultural heritage to TOURISTS
Set in authentic, cultural tourism, it gives the international visitor to our shores an opportunity to enrich themselves through learning & discovery. To immerse themselves in our culture, through a live, interactive and entertaining show in a safe environment.
(2) Music is central, but the additional features of the show add REAL substance
(a) Special Guest Interviews
They will give context. Through interaction with the hosts, our special guests will educate the international guests on topical issues in their field
(b) Celebrity Co-Hosts
Adds a celebrity & comedic touch.
(c) Against the Odds feature
Showcasing young people that have achieved despite their living conditions and social context. Stories that provide hope.
(d) SA top 100 songs list
In this feature we will play live music off the SA top 100 songs list, introducing the audience to the evergreen songs produced in this country and at the same time pay homage to the original artists and composers.
(e) Hidden Gems of the tourism industry
This insert on the show will highlights places, events etc outside the greater Cape Town area.
(3) Time of Day : 5pm - 7pm
(a) This time of day is the typical ‘dead-time’ in a tourist’s itinerary. Normally relaxing around the hotel pool, reading or relaxing in the hotel room or having a drink at the bar. Hardly any tourist attraction draws tourists to an activity over this time.
(b) This helps to propel Cape Town into a 24-hour city, with its doors open for business around the clock
(c) Instead of commuters trying to battle traffic in peak hour, this provides them with the option of staying in the city, and experiencing culture on a regular basis
(d) A platform for artists to showcase their talents to an international audience. Furthermore, musicians, artists can do other gigs that same night still, and even the audience can still take in the other night time activities of the city AFTER show time. A great pre-drinks occasion with substance before dinner or theatre or other night time entertainment..
(4) An ALL-IN-ONE-STOP
The tourist will embrace Music, The Arts, Fashion, Dance, Theatre, SA Cuisine, Wine & Entertainment.
All in one go!
(5) MOST INNOVATIVE, AFTER BUSINESS HOURS HALF-DAY TOUR
Combining
(a) the daily music show, followed by
(b) a home-hosted dinner,
it becomes an innovative, substantial and most authentic cultural experience for tourists, business folk and conference delegates to Cape Town. A MUST DO on ANY tourist ITINERARY to CAPE TOWN!
