WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Following our Open Call for The Unexperienced Yet – Solo Residency, we want to give more clarity and support to those interested in applying.

This residency is more than just a program — it is a guided journey from idea to stage.

You will receive:
• One-on-one mentorship
• Support with choreography, music, and concept development
• Guidance in production (lighting, set, costume)
• Branding and positioning of your work
• A final performance at The Unexperienced Yet Festival

We understand that the R850 application fee may be a challenge for some.

To make this opportunity more accessible:

Payment Plan Available
You can split the fee into 4 installments.

Fee Waiver Option
If you are unable to pay, you can apply for a waiver.

I dare you to face the stage alone and leave your mark.

The Unexperienced Yet: Solo Residency guides emerging artists from idea to full solo production, providing mentorship, creative guidance, and support with choreography, music, production, and branding. Participants will perform their work at The Unexperienced Yet Festival.

Residency: Mid June – September 2026
Application Fee: R850

Who Can Apply

Dancers, choreographers, theatre makers, performance artists, interdisciplinary creatives
Developing your first solo or never presented a solo professionally

What You’ll Gain

Mentorship from experienced artists
Support with choreography, music, sound, set, lighting, costume, and branding

2026 Learnership Opportunity: Production Management – The Unexperienced Yet Solo Work

Position: Production Management Learner
Project: The Unexperienced Yet – Solo Performance
Type: Learnership / Internship
Location: Johannesburg or Cape Town
Duration: March 2026 – March 2027

About the Learnership:
We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual with a strong interest in production management and performing arts. No prior experience is required — the learner will be taught and mentored throughout the production of The Unexperienced Yet, a solo work by Tsholo4elo.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in producing a professional dance performance, learning everything from planning and logistics to budgeting, scheduling, and on-the-day production management.

What You Will Learn:
Planning and coordinating rehearsals, workshops, performances, and lectures
Managing production resources and budgets
Communicating and coordinating with the artist, technical team, and venues
Overseeing technical setups, props, and logistics
Audience engagement and marketing basics
Problem-solving during rehearsals and performance days

Requirements:
Strong interest and passion for performing arts and live production
Willingness to learn and take direction
Organized and responsible
Good communication and teamwork skills
