About Buster Petersen
A poet, Painter, Writer, Social commentator, and regular recluse. Buster is the name under which this artist chooses his work to be viewed. A pseudonym if you will. Escaping prejudice and pre-conceived notions about himself, as an individual, allows for his work to speak for itself with untainted influence. Buster paints in oils, water color and mixed media. A self-proclaime
d pioneer of photo- luminescence or ‘dark art’ applied to various cosmic scenes. He also sculpts in wood. His attitude to painting is that it’s the overall effect of the picture or canvass that counts, as opposed to the accuracy of representing the subject. This opens up immense creative possibilities and provides a sense of freedom to create as a variant to being restricted to conform. He approaches each work as an ‘experiment’. In his opinion, “often failing.”
We have managed to convince Buster to start a Facebook and Instagram page where some of his poems and short stories can be read and pictures of previous works viewed. The pages encourage discourse of diverse opinions, inconvenient and objective truths relating to politics, the past and current social conditions, the arts, activities and business. In the climate of modern day there has never been a more relevant time for Buster to show case, which is why he has finally decided to bare is work the world. Buster is a South African born artist who has been creating in various mediums for many years. Oils, acrylics, water colors as well as wood and ceramic sculptures. Having attended various courses including a stint with Walter Battis , Judith Mason, Deric van Rensberg and others.
