This one is a little close to my heart. In the midst of adjusting to moving to Cape Town alone and being on set the same week of my Lobola / wedding. I had the privilege of landing a lead role for UNISYS.

I could not have gotten through it without my amazing agent Authentik Management guiding me through everything and a fantastic and unforgettable Director and DOP, I was so blessed and lucky to work with a director that protected his talent ❤️ and special shout out to Kgaugelo Madisha she probably doesn’t remember but her kindness and efficiency gave me all the confidence I needed. This is where I met Eugenie Brand coolest 1st AD I know 🤭💫

Overall a fantastic first big set experience 💕 and the wedding went well 😂

Ooie is an intergenerational exploration of the feminine. We give a platform to conversations around menopause, misogyny, and q***r femme experiences. The piece proposes the potential for joy in subverting strict, traditional femininity through play.

The audience hears recorded conversations between the artists and their mothers relating their contrasting relationships with attaining and maintaining femininity. Initially, Roland is alone interacting with bathroom supplies like an alien: Incorrectly, naïvely. Their goal is to imbue the feminising process, usually associated with blades, blood, pulling, waxing, brushing, and pain, with an atmosphere of childlike whimsy.

Anna then joins them, initially shocked by their behaviour. Gradually, they both use the bathroom supplies and each other’s bodies as landscapes on which to excavate and distort the image of the feminine. As this unfolds, the audience hears a recording including both performers and their mothers, coming together in conversation.
