Xchange Connexion is a social enterprise founded in the belief that by connecting and supporting local businesses and organisations, we can grow more inclusive, resilient and sustainable communities. Ward 71 in Cape Town, which includes parts of Bergvliet, Constantia, Kirstenhof, Lakeside, Steenberg, Tokai and Westlake, is the first community to use the Xchange Connexion partnership model.

Today was such a wonderfully rewarding day!

After struggling at school, one of our little learners is now grasping his phonics. This progress has been made possible thanks to 1 on 1 time and an incredible partnership between his teachers and family and the Changemaker Pathway team which has been in play since mid-term 1.

It was such a special moment when he sat and built the group 1 phonics with play-dough AND sounded each one out. He's using his Grey Changemaker manual to learn all 44 phonics. We're hoping that by the end of Term 3 he'll be able to build words and basic sentences.

Something powerful is growing at Westlake Primary School

Many South African schools face overcrowded classrooms, behaviour challenges, learning backlogs, limited resources and growing pressure on teachers.

That’s why Xchange Connexion launched The Changemaker Project for Primary Schools.

At Westlake Primary School , we are helping build:
