Ori Projects is proud to share it's first charitable video in partnership with BackaBuddy.

Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation Hout Bay is a Non-Profit Organisation that provides a comprehensive after school programme to the impoverished children of Hout Bay, South Africa that focuses on the Performing Arts.

Amoyo is seeking R 480 000.00 to secure 6 months of classes for the 175 children that are currently enrolled in this free after school programme.

Ori Projects, a startup Cape Town based production company, has dedicated it's time and heart to create an endorsement video for free for Amoyo to help further the foundations message to the world.

Yesterday Ori Projects had the privilege to work with its second charitable organisation under the BackaBuddy crowdfunding umbrella Cancer Buddies.

Cancer Buddies is a phenomenal organisation that's mission is to pair newly diagnosed cancer patients who seek their help with "buddies" that have been through, and survived, similar cancerous conditions. This free buddy system allows individuals to know they are not alone in a time of fear and uncertainty.

Currently Cancer Buddies offers it's services in English and Afrikaans, but CEO Brett Simpson has created this campaign with BackaBuddy to raise funds needed so that this Cancer Buddies can roll out it's first step (of many planned steps) into a more expansive and inclusive service for the Xhosa speaking community of South Africa in honour of the late and great Nelson Mandela.

As an emerging player in the film and media sector, Ori Projects took the opportunity to attend yesterday’s Film Industry Engagement hosted by the City of Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium. The purpose of the meeting was to address the challenges currently being faced by the local film industry and finding means in which the City can further help in alleviating these issues. The issues addressed focused largely on the water crisis, location accessibility, permit restrictions and limitations, skills development and transformation as well as the threat posed by more cost effective emerging film markets around the world.

To our dismay much of what was discussed honed in on the international commercial industry and the film services South Africa has to offer them. Though we respect and support the international film market in South Africa, Ori Projects took the opportunity presented by the forum to address a key issue that was largely not addressed at the conference, development of South Africa's own film market.

With our production houses incredibly competitive rates and abundance of creativity, we aim to make local content creation more accessible to businesses, charities and individuals alike.

Ori Projects hopes to encourage the emergence of a new trend in our country, investing in local talent, telling authentic South African stories and fostering a self sustaining industry that will grow to benefit many, and we are motivated by the City's openness to work alongside us to foster such development.

Yesterday Ori Projects had the privilege of working on it's first free charity production in partnership with BackaBuddy to help raise awareness for one of the most amazing foundations: Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation Hout Bay.

Amoyo is a fantastic foundation dedicated to helping the lives of the underprivileged youth in Hout Bay, Cape Town. The foundation provides a free after school program for children ranging from the ages of 5 to 19 and focuses on providing expert training in the performing arts this includes dance, speech, drama and music.

Unfortunately Amoyo is under threat of having to close it's doors soon without donors to help keep their expenses afloat and so Amoyo is seeking new funding platforms to ensure the underprivileged children of Hout Bay do not lose a program that develops, not only their creativity, but also their self-esteem and prospects of a brighter future.
