These kids just engineered a musical instrument out of paper cups and dry beans!

Shake it one way, and you get a rattle. Shake it another, you get a roll. Hold it differently, and the whole sound changes. Without anyone telling them to, these kids started testing every angle and speed to see what happened next.

That instinct to experiment, to notice that your actions have a direct effect on the outcome, is exactly what we want them to carry into bigger problems one day. Today it's a bean shaker. Tomorrow, who knows?
