Happy 91st birthday !!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Today marks 91 years since we first opened our doors as the world’s first purpose-built recording studio.
A day in 1931 which saw the great Sir Edward Elgar conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in a performance of ‘Pomp and Circumstance March no. 1’.
Since then, we’ve seen recording technology go from wax to tape to digital, and witnessed classical legends, big band stars, comedy greats, fab foursomes, prog rockers, film composers, electronic pioneers, Brit poppers and jazz masters create the world’s soundtrack.
We continue to operate as a recording studio and remain a prominent hub of music, creativity and innovation, always looking to the future. Home to the greatest artists, musicians, engineers and technical staff around.
Today, we open our doors again for the final day of the festival, designed to inspire the next generation of artists, producers, composers and creatives.
