The X Bank & JA.LIZAH vault launch of the Treasury I, Treasury II & Storyline I collection.

The Treasury collection originated in Cape Town, where Jaleesa van Beek began dreaming of creating Golden Artefacts while staying in a historical bank building that stored much of Africa’s gold.

Collaborating with a Zimbabwean jeweller, named Tendai Mahlengwe, she transformed her dreams into rough prototypes in his garage studio, which became a dream factory. Van Beek then transformed her artefacts by working with specialised artisans, leading to a new storyline that took her to Cairo, where she discovered more about her collection’s inspiration.

After exhibiting her work at the renowned Mashrabia Gallery of Contemporary Art she received an award at the Cairo Design Awards during the 2024 Cairo Design Week.

She then returned to Amsterdam where she launched her collection at the X Bank, again located in a historical bank building in the heart of the city.
