SIYAWAMWAYA FAMILY FEUD TAKES A NASTY TURN AS FORMER MUREWA TIMES JOURNALIST IS ARRESTED
In a dramatic turn of events a former Murewa Times Journalist Tasunungurwa Freedom Manuhwa was arraigned before the courts on charges of contravening the Cyber and Data Protection Act. Charges are that sometime between June and December 2025, Manuhwa allegedly posted malicious messages on the Murewa Times Whatsapp platform using an Econet number belonging to him.
According to the State, the messages alleged that a spiritual healer named Sekuru Kanengo had accused Taurai Siyawamwaya (PICTURED) of causing his sons`s illness using spiritual means. The posts further alleged that Siyawamwaya had been hiding at Chibhanguza Hotel during a cleansing ceremony, awaiting the outcome of a traditional court’s verdict.
It is in light of this new development that we contacted Sekuru Kanengo to hear his side of the story who had this to say, “muzukuru wangu nyaya yana Siyawamwaya haisi yekunyepa, Nathan Siyawamwaya akapotera kudare kwangu mushure mekunge arwara nepfungwa. Chokwadi ndakamubatsira akadzokedzana kuita munhu, ini semunhu anorapa nechivanhu dare rangu rakatarisa ndokuona kuti nhau iyi iri kuda hama dza Nathan. Ndakashambadzira kuti hama dza Nathan ngadziuye pano tionesane chanetsa pamwana hapana akauya. Kwakazoti kwapera vhiki ndipo pakauya hama dzake dzinosanganisira Babamunini, vakoma, vanin`ina nehanzvadzi. Ndakasviko vapandira nhau mamiriro ayakaita ndikati hongu mauya zvenyu asi munhu andiri kuda pano ndi Taurai Siyawamwaya anova baba va Nathan. Taurai akafonerwa mudare mangu akavimbisa kuti aizouya Monday yaitevera yacho asi nanhasi haasati atsikira kudare. Chaakazenge akuita kutumira nhume dzake mushure me back to sender yandakange ndaita yamubata achiti Sekuru ngatiyananei, ndakavapindura kuti kana asina kuuya kudare kwangu hapana chatinotaura. Nhau yakazoenda kwa Mambo Mangwende akadaidzwa asi haana kuuya. Kuuya achauya zvake inguva, uyezve kutitichaturirana anofanira kuripa dare rangu oripa Mambo Mangwende nokusvibisa dunhu kwaakaita.”
Sekuru Kanengo went further stating that he now awaits the court`s decision and stands ready to be a witness in this case to prove that indeed it is a true story.
We also managed to follow the court proceedings to understand the nature of the case and what we have gathered so far is there are allegations that Taurai Siyawamwaya “allegedly bribed” the Investigation Officer to detain the accused on the frivolous charges.
It is also understood that after the Magistrate gave bail to the accused, Taurai Siyawamwaya fumed towards the Prosecuting Officer as to why the accused was given bail. It had to take the intervention of the Area Public Prosecutor to calm the situation after he explained the reasons. Taurai Siyawamwaya could not have none of that and shouted at the Public Prosecutor that “tichapedzerana”. It now remains to be seen what he meant by those threats.
