An event which explores creativity through an artist's journey in the space of three days by experiencing three mediums for artistic expression: Fashion,Visual Art and Music. Creative Expressions (CE) is a platform where established and up and coming creative artists can showcase their work in collaboration at one event. The weekend program is as follows:
FRIDAY
Step Into the World (SITW) - a s
ynergy of music and visual art
A 2-hour music launch event featuring a 45-minute performance by one up-and-coming musician which reflects their individual creative identity & journey thus far. Their set is performed in an intimate space that visually captures the artist’s creative “world” through graffiti applied on canvasses across the entire venue. The entire experience for the artist, from conception to performance, is documented on camera to be packaged in a short film format suitable for television viewing. Activation Party
After SITW, an after-party will commence at a separate venue that will serve as a warm-up to the main event on Saturday. Here, drinks will be served with good music from well-known local DJs and an atmosphere that celebrates the kick-off to a creative journey in one weekend. SATURDAY
Creative Expressions: Main Event
The main event of our weekend begins with poetry and interpretative dance setting the mood for a time of expression three-fold. A fashion showcase with clothing sponsored by TopShop & Vertigo (accompanied by visual media) followed by a performance from local artists will be the serving to a cake topped off by the headlining up and coming act,"The Fam". Braai/Chillas
After a good two days of seeing the best of what's brewing in the local Cape Town scene, a time of relaxation and socialising will be enjoyed with DJs on-hand to cap off a weekend-long journey of creativity and expression with a few beverages and braaied meat.
