Spotlight on our talented - we are so proud of you!

Whether you’re a devoted Suidooster viewer who never misses an episode on kykNET, or someone who occasionally tunes in for a bit of light-hearted drama, chances are you’ve noticed the vibrant and unforgettable Valentino “Tino” Cupido— Angie’s new best friend who brings not only laughter, but heart.

Tino, portrayed by the talented Cole Wessels, is quickly becoming a fan favourite. With each appearance, audiences are falling more and more in love with his infectious energy, quirky charm, and emotional depth.

But for Cole, Tino is more than just a role — he’s a symbol. A blend of art and activism, Tino represents resilience, hope, and the power of being seen. Cole views the character as a celebration of identity, and a reminder that authentic representation in media matters — not just for entertainment, but for fostering belonging and connection.

THE NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL 2025

A highlight on South Africa’s cultural calendar, the National Arts Festival has been an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival, taking place in its Eastern Cape hometown of Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), South Africa, since its inception in 1974.

The NAF was a critical space for protest during apartheid; has hosted numerous groundbreaking artists; survived the pandemic by going digital; and back to live again, and is evolving and shaping the arts for half a century. The National Arts Festival is defined by the idea that the arts help us understand our world, connect within it, find meaning and drive transformation.

The Festival will take place from 26 June to 6 July 2025.
