ArtFarm – Space to Create
ArtFarm is a collective set up with the desire to bring together artists from a number of different genres together in an interactive social and work environment. Our aim is to give them the space they need to grow as individuals as well as help to create a viable industry within South Africa and abroad for our Art. To do this we seek to engage with Illustrators, Comic an
d Street Artists from all walks of life and encourage them to come on board to assist us in creating an informative and exciting platform for Illustrative Art in South Africa. Open to emerging and existing artists ArtFarm offers a wide variety of services: Information, exhibitions and workshops and talks that cover all aspects of our industry. We have lots of exciting and inspiring events and workshops planned for our artists and followers to take part in. Workshops - Our workshops cover a wide variety of topics from basic techniques through to ……. They are open to our collective and the public. We also hope to assist in increasing the knowledge of our sector of the art world at a scholastic as well as on a professional level through the use of these workshops. Upcoming Workshops: Holiday ArtSchool for 12-18yrs, Holiday ArtSchool for 7-12yrs, Acrylics 101. Creating Comics. Exhibitions - Quarterly exhibitions of our collective works to inspire and invigorate, the perfect place to meet the artists, network with other creatives and maybe find that perfect piece for your wall. Upcoming Exhibitions: Halloween Hybrid and A Creative Christmas are two of our collective themed shows for this year with more still to come…
Events – We plan to take the show on the road and will be appearing at many of the local and national events to spread the word. Rage, Ucon, May the 4th etc. Design indaba etc... If you want to catch up with us and see what we are up to, we will be there. Talks and Tips - Online talks and tips that pertain to the art world, designed to assist in making your experience as a freelance or commercial artist more pleasurable. News and Reviews – In the form of an online blog with information on South Africa’s artists and what they are up to. What’s on in your area, Upcoming Conventions etc… If you have an event or product that is related to our industry let us know. Through these services we hope to encourage people to talk and interact about Art and what is happening in their areas with each other. At present we are focused mainly on three areas within our genre: Street Art, Comic Art and Illustration with the hopes to add to this at a later date. All of these disciplines are often misunderstood and disregarded. We feel that they have an active creative part to play in our collective and in our society, however all these genres are becoming more and more main stream and relevant. ArtFarm seeks to supply the inspiration, knowledge, information and space, an artist need to create.
