The Rainbow Puppet Theatre

The Rainbow Puppet Theatre Situated at the Constantia Waldorf School, tucked away in the Kindergarten building is the only permanent Puppet Theatre in South Africa.

The Rainbow Puppet Theatre has been performing to the public on Saturday mornings at 10am and 11.15 am for 30 years (on 14th May 2022), as well as for the pupils at the Constantia Waldorf School. After an almost two year break due to Covid, we will be returning TBC. Our artistically painted theatre has a team of five puppeteers complimented with full stage lighting, beautiful glove, rod and shadow

puppets. Aside from a few other stories, our Rainbow Puppet Theatre usually performs well-known Grimm's Fairy Tales such as 'Snow White and Rose Red', 'Little red Riding hood', 'The Frog Prince' and 'Hansel and Gretel'. We have about 12 different stories altogether which we rotate. Although our shows are widely regarded as entertainment for children, adults who come into contact with it soon fall under its enchanted spell. When: Shows are pop-up style so keep an eye out for our calendar. Times: 10am and 11.15 am. Where: The Rainbow Puppet Theatre is situated at the Kindergarten of The Constantia Waldorf School - once through the entrance gate, turn immediately left and follow the road until you get to the carpark at the kindergarten. Admission: R40pp in cash (no card facility) at the door, for adults and children (recommended age is 4 years and up).

Over the years, we’ve strived to remain an affordable option for families by keeping our prices the same for as long as possible (it’s been 5 years since our last increase 🙏🏽).
