Thanks to everyone for the amazing support for ReZONE after the change of venue, we had an insane event. We really appreciate everyone having a massive party and big smiles across all the faces. Hope you enjoyed the decor, that was just a taste of what we were going to do, So be prepared for next year for the full package of AMAZING!

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we have to release this update on ZONE Festival 2013. Due to legal “sabotage” from the powers-that-be, we greatly regret to inform you that ZONE Festival will no longer be an outdoor festival this year. We have our incredible international acts, amazing SA talent ready to go, beautiful décor at our fingertips and of course the loyal support of all of you, amped to get in the zone. So even though we cannot celebrate outdoors this year, we have decided to “ReZone” at the Side Show for a double- dance floor- night of beautiful musical magic!

Here’s why:

Late this week it was disclosed to us that the police and special events department of Stellenbosch received complaints from 4 neighboring farms because of Zone Festival 2012. This information was withheld from us till this time and therefore made it too late for us to salvage anything from this. We were denied our Temporary Departure, Liquor and Special Events Licenses a week before the event. If this information had been given to us earlier, during our numerous meetings and follow ups, we would have tried negotiating with the neighbors, re-applying for our licenses or would have simply moved the event to any number of venues we have available to us. Even with the time restraint we still tried, exhausting every avenue possible! We did our utmost to make it happen, even seeking help from the Minister of finance and tourism, and numerous lawyers. Unfortunately we realized it was a futile effort with just a week to go. A reliable source told us that the authorities do not want any Trance Parties in Stellenbosch also making sure that another well-known event was denied application there earlier this year. One thing that we can tell you for sure is that ZONE Festival 2014 will be on a beautiful, welcoming outdoor venue with all the exciting new décor and design concepts we promised you and more!!

“They” might think they have taken the wind out of our sails, but this will only make us stronger! Come show your support to the amazing international and local talents that are here to take us to that inner space where, through dance, we move into the timeless rhythm inherent in everything and we can synch back to the pulse of love.
