Green Forest is orange-red.
Flames crack as the fire rages through the trees.
Glop-glop-glop glops Giraffe from the fire,
Huffin-o-puffin, huffin-o-puffin.
Tip-tip-tip tips Springbok from the fire,
Huffin-o-puffin, huffin-o-puffin.
Golp-golp-golp golps Rabbit from the fire,
Huffin-o-puffin, huffin-o-puffin.
Tsr-tsr-tsr tsrs Mouse from the fire,
Huffin-o-puffin, huffin-o-puffin.
Plop-plop-plop plops Frog from the fire,
Huffin-o-puffin, huffin-o-puffin.
Tramp-tramp-tramp tramps Elephant from the fire,
Huffin-o-puffin, huffin-o-puffin.
And then Elephant looks back and shouts, “The fire will catch up with your little steps, Mouse, run up my trunk and find shelter under my ear!”
Tsr-tsr-tsr tsrs Mouse up Elephants trunk,
Huffin-o-puffins in under a big floppy ear.
Tramp-tramp-tramp tramps Elephant from the fire,
Huffin-o-puffin, huffin-o-puffin.
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash, storm the animals into the river to save themselves from the vicious flames.
“Thank you, oh, thank you, Elephant. My treads are just too small to keep up,” squeaks Mouse and patted Elephant´s head with her tiny front paw.
“Ahh, Mouse, that is an honour to help others! But can you please help me now?” responds Elephant.
“But, of course, my friend! How can I help you?” squeaks Mouse.
“During our charge through the forest, something got in my right eye. Please look at what is in my eye,” explains Elephant.
“Open your eye wide! Oh my,
you have a speck of ash in your eye!
Hold still! Hold still!” commands Mouse, the nurse,
“and here, it is out. Is it better or worse?”
Elephant sighs, “It is much better!
And, look at the clouds. It is beginning to rain!
Now the fire will be put out, and our houses will remain.”
Each one of us can help another, regardless of how small or big we are. When we help someone, we experience pleasure, friendship and trust. Therefore, every time we help each other, we get to feel good!
