BEHIND THE WORK: ๐๐ช๐ณ๐ญ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ช๐จโ Tshepiso Moropa
โDitoro explores the space between dreaming and remembering. Drawing from personal and family archives, I use collage to construct dreamlike worlds where fragments of photographs, figures, landscapes and animals come together in unexpected ways.
The works are informed by Setswana understandings of dreams, folklore and storytelling, where the boundary between the imagined and the lived can become fluid.
Rather than treating dreams as purely personal or imaginary, I see them as spaces of possibility, places where memories can be revisited, transformed and reimagined.
Through collage, I create new narratives from these fragments, allowing the past and present to exist together and asking what other ways of seeing ourselves, our histories and our futures might emerge.โ
