Sunset in Spain.... When a friend asked me to paint this sunset for her from a photo, I was definitely apprehensive, as I'd never painted a detailed seascape before, and I haven't been painting much lately so I'm out of practise. I gave it a go though, and it took me a while to finish... but in the end, instead of stressing about getting all the little details exactly right, I had fun losing myself in the rhythm of the waves...

A message to myself and anyone else who needs to hear this 🤗

I haven't been able to paint in a while, or even come on IG....Unfortunately, life has been too stressful lately ....
Today, I decided to at least try paint some simple flowers.... it felt good to lose myself in the painting and not think about my worries for a bit 😊

One of our amazing Cape Town rock stars .fairlie initiated a fire-fighter rocks challenge 👩‍🚒🔥👨‍🚒 with a goal to donate over 200 rocks to various fire stations, to be handed out to fire-fighters and volunteers as a thank you for their service and amazing efforts in combatting wildfires in the Western Cape.
I painted three rocks to donate, and was very honoured that one of them was chosen by Charlene Theron (seen in the 2nd photo) who works at Firstcare Wildfire Support in George 😊
I hope my other two rocks also found happy homes at the other fire stations 😁

I decided to do some "paint pouring or, in my case, paint splodging. So this is what one of my paint splodge rocks became 😁🩵...
When I noticed a small white paint spot on this little rock (swipe to see the original rock with an arrow pointing it out), I could immediately visualise a lighthouse beacon in stormy seas...
I added a bit of extra wave foam using a sponge 🤍
