Voorkamer Winkel is the home of Jan Henning’s art, blog and other curated items.



The winkel (shop) resonates with the warmth and nostalgia from childhood memories of the voorkamer (front room, usually the formal living room in a farmhouse). It represents a place that is welcoming, inclusive and packed with sentiments of a bygone era. It is where arguments were waged and the social, cultural and religious questions of the day were asked. It is here that Jan reflects on questions about our journey, identity, masculinity, relationships and general struggles of a 30 something year old South-African dreamer.

Voorkamer Art Cafe: An intimate experience for friends/family, art and laughter in the voorkamer of artists Jan Henning and Geo Strydom's home. We are situated in the heart of Woodstock with breathtaking and sweeping views of Table Mountain and the mother city.

How it works:
You book your spot for a group of four, pay R360.00 p.p and you are all set to go.

On arrival you will receive a glass of wine paired with delicious delicatessens. The most important is, you will create (paint and sculpt) and have some good wholesome fun under the guidance of experienced artists. You will also be able to take your masterpiece home.

You only need to bring yourself and your 3 friends and wear clothes that can get dirty. (We adhere to all Covid-19 Protocols)

Timeslots:

Tuesdays (10h00 - 13h00) or (18h00 - 21h00)
Thursdays (10h00 - 13h00) or (18h00 - 21h00)
Saturdays (10h00 - 13h00)
