Wow‼️

There I was last night doing my own bit of navel gazing and meanwhile we all struggle to make it work! And mostly in silence. It’s a shame, really. Please feel free to comment and pour your heart out, we can all learn from it and if nothing else just kick that ball around for bit and feel better after. Should I come up with workable plans I will certainly share.

Meanwhile, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your comments and encouragement. Just so you know, I’m not giving up, I’m adjusting. I’ll be exploring new ideas for a while to see how that goes, especially in the local market. The occasional doll is sure to feature, I love making them. I just can’t ship them outside SA unless/until another channel opens up. Fingers crossed. 🙌🏼🤞🏼🤙🏼

Coming soon though…. a small collection of swan-themed sculptures and festive decorations! Feathers, glitter, glue and stuffing….

f e e l i n g ~ nostalgic tonight. It was with a heavy heart that I closed my Etsy shop a few months ago bc of circumstances beyond my control. I live in an African country and Tommy great disappointment turned out to be a textbook reversal of fortunes. The government is failing the country on every imaginable level. People are left to fend for themselves while the government elite quibble amongst themselves about status and perks. Amongst other vital services, the postal services have collapsed. Courier costs are astronomical for a small business, so non viable. I’m exploring the local market with limited success so I’ve resigned myself to shelving doll making for the foreseeable. I appreciate every follower that chooses to remain, you guys are my tribe, thank you. I’m going to explore a few different avenues in terms of creative output, please come along for the ride! I have visions of doll exhibitions, too, but all in good time. Much love to all of you who supported me up to now, sending you hugs and good fortune. Another chapter is about to unfold….

It was the very first piece I acquired for my collection, and remains my favourite, years later. I cut a piece off this precious print to make the fourth doll in the Spring series.
