Color increases brand recognition by up to 80%!

According to the way our senses function, color is the most influential followed by shapes, symbols and finally words.

So when considering color for your branding, while research has shown certain colors do broadly align with specific traits (e.g. blue with trust), nearly every academic study on colors and branding will tell you that it’s far more important for colors to support the personality you want to portray instead of trying to align with stereotypical color associations.

Welcome to my little online space, For the Love of Design. This page is fueled by wanting to share my passion for that creative spark, that lights up a world of developing imaginations. The journey from something that never existed, to becoming a physical visual form.

When I graduated from art school in 2000, I wondered the streets of Port Elizabeth for days. I did go home for the occasion snack breaks and waitressed at a quant coffee house, Cafe Blend, trying to eagerly show the world my new Ninja skills.

Many celebrations, tears and one unfortunate computer mouse later, I decided to start posting the interesting parts of my design and marketing portfolio. (There will be some works that will never make it out from the dark corner of my cupboard.) Look out for interesting and creative ideas from home decor to marketing concepts and the overwhelming inspiration of artists and companies that I have had the privilege of working with and have made it happen through the ups and downs!
