This KIA Tasman in at Acoustic Audio for a full Helix sound system upgrade!

The customer told me it is the first one sold in Boksburg and Helix car audio equipment is a must!

Known for their real good tonal quality and decent output, the Compose series 6.5 split system and coaxial set fitted in the front and rear doors did a superb job to reproduce from woofer frequencies all the way to tweeter detail. Together they are just fantastic sounding
producing a all around sound field.

The Helix IKS10 slimline filled the cabin with low frequincy detail with ease - deep full bass notes which is tight and controlled.

The Helix 204 x over amplifies all the drivers with ease - the sound signature can be described as detailed with a rich tone - with a subwoofer that adds to the soundstage brilliantly.

Stay tuned for more.

This GWM Pseries in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM/Helix sound system upgrade!

As per usual, we treated the doors with anti vibration material to ensure the BLAM drivers performs to their potential.

The customer decided on the Super Relax series for the front and Express series for the rear and together they give real good performance. Good midbass, fantastic midrange performance and very detailed high notes which is not fatiguing at all.

But the real star in this system is definitely the Helix 10 inch slimline subwoofer. We did some “reverse engineering” on the port and we managed deeper bass extension and extra output without sacrificing the tonality. This driver blends in so nice with the fronts that you would think there is a subwoofer mounted in front somewhere.

The new BLAM P805 5 channel amplifier is used for the first time in this setup and it did not disappoint at all. Lots of power on tap, very good sounding and real good build quility in a small footprint is how I can describe it.

Stay tuned!

This Land Cruiser Prado in at Acoustic Audio for a BLAM and Helix sound system upgrade.

We installed the BLAM Live 8 inch and 6 inch split system sets for the front and rear doors which is known for exceptional good tonal performance and fantastic midbass. Powered by the BLAM 1504 amplifier, they offer real good value for money and perform as described above.
We installed the Helix IKS 8 inch slimline subwoofer in the tailgate and as can be seen - we deadened the tailgate itself together with the cover to ensure that there is no rattles at all. Powered by the BLAM P601 monoblock - the subwoofer performs real good in this IB application.

So how does the system sound?

The system can be decribed as just WOW with fantastic performance straight out the box!
The bulk deadening in front and rear doors ensures peak performance from the driver sets even with demanding music. The rear subwoofer provides nice low frequency extension for all rear passengers and as the owner said - we can feel the subwoofer even in the front.

All in all real good sounding system and a happy customer.
Stay tuned for more sound system upgrades tight here at AcousticAudio.

This Isuzu DMax Vcross in at Acoustic Audio for a BLAM and Morel sound system upgrade!

The MW9 9 inch Morel woofer set were ordered to be fitted in our sound quality car because at that time there were no solution available for what I wanted. In any way, a couple weeks later, we did get a replacement set meeting my requirements.

Our customer called me up one day and said he wanted a sound system solution in the Isuzu without adding a subwoofer. The Morel MW9 driver set could definitely fill the role of a subwoofer and play high into mid range territory and together with that, we fitted the BLAM LT 28 tweeter set in the OEM location on the dashboard to handle the high frequencies.
In the rear doors we fitted the Live 6.5 coaxial set - and boy oh boy they perform just wow. As per usual, we did bulk sound deadening treatment in the doors plus we treated the front door cards to minimise rattles. And on top of that we added a layer of acoutic foam for increased results.

The BLAM Live LA4100 amplifier in bridge mode is powering the woofer set, and the Relax R804 D powers the tweeters and rear coaxial drivers.

We also changed the OEM headunit with a TTAudio class D high performance replacement unit. The system needs to play in for 2-3 weeks before we can do final tweaks.

Stay tuned for more sound system upgrades!

Our customer had specific requirements for a sound system upgrde for he’s daily car!

He wanted a very musical setup with a subwoofer that can effortlessly dig deep into low frequencies. The system must also not be expensive at all.
For that reason, we opted for BLAM car audio products in the Express series with the Relax slimline subwoofer.

As per usual, our bulk sound deadening treatment minimise rattles while stiffening all the skins of the doors. The result is much better performance for the drivers in the doors while making the ride even more quieter.

Another plus factor of the BLAM products is that they deliver decent output even with some of the demanding genres of music we have these days. With the Sony DSX B700, the music reproduction of this system is real impressive and tonally such a joy to listen to.

This GWM P series in at Acoustic Audio for a sound system upgrade!

We fitted the BLAM express 165ES split system upfront which improved the tonal quality of all the music by quite a margin. This time we amplifierd the OEM rear speakers with the BLAM drivers upfront and the results were outstanding.

The BLAM RS 10 slimline subwoofer in ported enclosure fills the cabin with low note detail - I must say that this driver is super fast in transient response and to get it to integrate with the door drivers is easy. In fact you can not locate the woofer in the rear at all - it does a fantastic job in this setup.

The BLAM express EX 400 amplifier performs superbly with lots of power on tap.

A later upgrade will be BLAM rear speakers as well as bulk sound deadening.

Stay tuned for more.

This Getz in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM speaker upgrade!

We fitted the BLAM Live 165 LSQ split system upfront with the new Relax R80 midrange set. Separate pods were fabricated for the tweeter and midrange and then screwed together. The pods were covered in a matching black vinyl to match other trim colors like the dashboard and door cards.

Unlike most of the speaker pods or speaker mountings you find out there, our design and approach are based on the least amount of direct reflections giving the midrange and tweeter a better chance to “disappear”.so this way, the listener’s attention is drawn away from the speaker to focus more on the soundstage, layering ect.

The BLAM Express 165 coaxial set were fitted were fitted in the rear doors - which is powered directly of the headunit. I must say that they performed a lot better then what I expected.

Before we can finetune the system on the DSP, play in time of roughly 3 weeks are needed. This car will be seen more regularly at the MAX sound quality events, so if you are in the area, you can pop in for a demo.

Stay tuned for more sound system upgrades!

This VW T6 Kombi in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM/ Helix combination sound system upgrade.

Bulk sound deadening in the front doors and tailgate took care of rattles and lowering the resonance to improve the performance of the drivers.

The BLAM Live series splitsystem and coaxial set were fitted in the front and rear - they deliver fantastic performance tonally.

The BLAM R12 subwoofer in custom build subwoofer enclosure takes care of the low frequency production.

Helix M Four and M One powers the whole system.

Another GWM P series in at AcousticAudio for a sound system upgrade!

Our popular and fantastic sounding BLAM products was the customer’s first choice.

In the front we fitted the Express 165 ES split system and in tne rear, the Express 165 EC coaxial set. These drivers works real well when paired together - fantastic bass and midbass performance, real good warm midrange and good detail is how I can describe these speaker sets.

The BLAM RS10.2 slimline subwoofer fills the low frequencies with ease - good transient response and full bodied performance makes this subwoofer a must have when space is limited.

The Express EX400 amplifier powers the whole system with ease - very detailed and lots of headroom makes this amplifier one of my favorites.

Next up will be bulk sound deadening treatment in the front and rear doors - a must for all car sound system upgrades. Not only will we have better performance from the midrange frequencies, but also fuller bass response while making the Pseries more quiet.

Stay tuned for more.

This Omoda back at AcousticAudio for a extra subwoofer, monoblock and signal processor!

The added BLAM Express EX 320 monoblock is powering both the RS10 subwoofers with ease - tight and controlled bass is what we want from a system this and this setup definately does not disappoint. Plus there is a lot power on tap if the customer needs more output and it can do so effortlessly.

The Express EX 400 is now powering both front and rear BLAM speaker sets with the added benifit of independent volume setup between front and rear.

We also installed the LSP 68 DSP which is a real powerfull tool to get the most out of your system in terms of tonal quality and timing for a much better musical experience.

Stay tuned for more!
