This Ford Ka in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM sound system upgrade!

I actually forgot how good the BLAM165 RS split system is…
Although it has been replaced by the Super Relax series, they are still WOW!
What I listen for in a split system set is a detailed tweeter without harshness while not drawing any attention to itself and it has to blend seemlessly with the midbass.
The midbass on the other hand play the higher part of the midrange frequencies and also taking care of the lower notes. This driver is doing a fantastic job indeed.

The Live LSP25 subwoofer in sealed enclosure fill the lower notes in the cabin effortlessly with real fast transients. With a sub this good, it is easy to keep up with the fronts.

All the drivers are powered by the Live 4100 four channel amplifier - and in my opinion a fantastic sounding amp indeed - it is actually difficult to fault this one. Lots of power on tap, very detailed and dynamic.
The frequency band this amp is capable of extends to well beyond 50000 hz.

This is a pain BLAM setup, but it will reward you with many hours of listening pleasure.

This Renault Triber in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM sound system upgrade!

We installed the BLAM Live series splitsystem for the front doors and the Live series coaxial set for the rear.
Powered by the Live series 4 channel and monoblock,they perform fantastic indeed with exceptional midbass and a warm detailed sound reproduction.

We build the BLAM RS10 slimline subwoofer in slotvent enclosure with the emphasis on sound quality - and this one does not disappoint the listener at all.
Good transients, effortless low note reproduction and good output is how I can describe how this subwoofer sounds.

This GWM P series in at AcousticAudio for a sound system upgrade!

The Helix 204 Amplify 4 channel amplifier did a fantastic job powering the OEM front and rear doors speakers. Not only a improvement in volume, but also a huge step in tonal quality just what we can expect from this amplifier.

The BLAM RS10 slimline subwoofer in ported inclosure fills the low notes in the cabin with fast transients while doing so effortlessly.

The next upgrade will be a speaker change for front and rear doors, sound deadening, and maybe a extra subwoofer.

Sound system upgrades does not have to be expensive - but equipment have to be installed correctly. Stay tuned.

This VW Polo in at AcousticAudio for a Helix sound system upgrade.

You dont need to spend a lot of money to get a decent car sound system upgrade - in this setup we used the 204 X over 4 channel amplifier to power the OEM speakers in the front(no rear) as well as the 12 inch slimline subwoofer.

We designed and build the slotvent subwoofer enclosure so it will perform good with all types of music and with good tonal capabilities as well as decent output.

The updates to come will be a splitsystem for the front and coaxial set for the rear either from Helix or BLAM together with proper sound deadening in all four doors.

All in all a good sounding setup indeed. Stay tuned for more.

This VW Polo in at AcousticAudio to manufacture pods for both the BLAM Signature tweeter set and the Life midrange set!

As per usual we start with the midrange pod - calculating the right volume and using laser to determine which direction they will aim. Then from there we add the tweeter which is also time aligned with the midrange driver.

We follow a different approach to building pods for a 2/3/ or 4 way setup - we always try to take the reflective surfaces into consideration before making the permanent mounting. And that is something that I have learned from experiments in Hi-Fi equipment. The end result is a soundstage that always start behind the speakers but is also extend very deep with good width.
We coverd them with a matching black vinyl which is very close color and texture wise to the dashboard.

We neatened the sound deadening in the front and rear doors, added another layer of treatment and ensured that water can not get to the bass drivers at all. A tight seal between the woofer and the doorpanel prevents any energy/ sound waves to be trapped that can cause cansellations.

The Helix M Four amplifire were added to power just the rear speakers which in turn complement the fronts which is now running fully active.

So how does it sound?
Already a huge improvement tonally and we now have a sound stage. Just a couple of weeks more to play the system in then it can come back for a proper tune and get the car ready to attend the MAX evaluation events.

This BMW X3 in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM sound system upgrade!

At first we fitted the Relax 200 WN 8 inch woofer set together with the new P704 4 channel amplifier to power the OEM front and rear speakers.
A couple of days later our customer asked for more info on the direct fit Relax 100 FS splitsystem sets and he wanted to install them as well.
We added the Relax 1020D 2 channel amplifier just to power the underseat woofer set and used the P704 to power just the front and rear split system sets. Here you can see the diffrence between the OEM tweeter and the BM25T - they are a massive improvement over the OEM sets.

So what improvements did our customer get with the BLAM setup?
Firstly a huge improvement in all tonal areas plus a lot more kick and output from the underseat woofers.
And the system is a lot more enjoyable irrespective the type of music we listen to.

All in all a fantastic sounding system as can be expected from all BLAM car audio products.

This KIA Tasman in at Acoustic Audio for a full Helix sound system upgrade!

The customer told me it is the first one sold in Boksburg and Helix car audio equipment is a must!

Known for their real good tonal quality and decent output, the Compose series 6.5 split system and coaxial set fitted in the front and rear doors did a superb job to reproduce from woofer frequencies all the way to tweeter detail. Together they are just fantastic sounding
producing a all around sound field.

The Helix IKS10 slimline filled the cabin with low frequincy detail with ease - deep full bass notes which is tight and controlled.

The Helix 204 x over amplifies all the drivers with ease - the sound signature can be described as detailed with a rich tone - with a subwoofer that adds to the soundstage brilliantly.

This GWM Pseries in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM/Helix sound system upgrade!

As per usual, we treated the doors with anti vibration material to ensure the BLAM drivers performs to their potential.

The customer decided on the Super Relax series for the front and Express series for the rear and together they give real good performance. Good midbass, fantastic midrange performance and very detailed high notes which is not fatiguing at all.

But the real star in this system is definitely the Helix 10 inch slimline subwoofer. We did some “reverse engineering” on the port and we managed deeper bass extension and extra output without sacrificing the tonality. This driver blends in so nice with the fronts that you would think there is a subwoofer mounted in front somewhere.

The new BLAM P805 5 channel amplifier is used for the first time in this setup and it did not disappoint at all. Lots of power on tap, very good sounding and real good build quility in a small footprint is how I can describe it.

This Land Cruiser Prado in at Acoustic Audio for a BLAM and Helix sound system upgrade.

We installed the BLAM Live 8 inch and 6 inch split system sets for the front and rear doors which is known for exceptional good tonal performance and fantastic midbass. Powered by the BLAM 1504 amplifier, they offer real good value for money and perform as described above.
We installed the Helix IKS 8 inch slimline subwoofer in the tailgate and as can be seen - we deadened the tailgate itself together with the cover to ensure that there is no rattles at all. Powered by the BLAM P601 monoblock - the subwoofer performs real good in this IB application.

So how does the system sound?

The system can be decribed as just WOW with fantastic performance straight out the box!
The bulk deadening in front and rear doors ensures peak performance from the driver sets even with demanding music. The rear subwoofer provides nice low frequency extension for all rear passengers and as the owner said - we can feel the subwoofer even in the front.

All in all real good sounding system and a happy customer.

This Isuzu DMax Vcross in at Acoustic Audio for a BLAM and Morel sound system upgrade!

The MW9 9 inch Morel woofer set were ordered to be fitted in our sound quality car because at that time there were no solution available for what I wanted. In any way, a couple weeks later, we did get a replacement set meeting my requirements.

Our customer called me up one day and said he wanted a sound system solution in the Isuzu without adding a subwoofer. The Morel MW9 driver set could definitely fill the role of a subwoofer and play high into mid range territory and together with that, we fitted the BLAM LT 28 tweeter set in the OEM location on the dashboard to handle the high frequencies.
In the rear doors we fitted the Live 6.5 coaxial set - and boy oh boy they perform just wow. As per usual, we did bulk sound deadening treatment in the doors plus we treated the front door cards to minimise rattles. And on top of that we added a layer of acoutic foam for increased results.

The BLAM Live LA4100 amplifier in bridge mode is powering the woofer set, and the Relax R804 D powers the tweeters and rear coaxial drivers.

We also changed the OEM headunit with a TTAudio class D high performance replacement unit. The system needs to play in for 2-3 weeks before we can do final tweaks.
