Piece entitled: “She emerged and flourished” Acrylic on canvas!
I learnt to paint during Covid as I had time to pursue something I always wanted to do… completely self-taught, just following along with online classes and finding so much joy in creating.
This past year, though, life took over.
Moving, building, renovating, and saying goodbye to our family home of 17 years… somewhere along the way, my creativity went quiet.
I didn’t feel inspired.
I didn’t feel like painting at all.
But I did manage to create this one piece 🤍
And somehow, it feels more special than any other painting I’ve done — because it came from a place where I thought I had nothing left creatively.
I’m slowly but surely setting up my new studio again… wanting to get back into painting.
The inspiration isn’t quite there yet — but I want it to be.
I’m not sure how to get it back… but I’m hopeful it will come.
It’s not always easy. Creativity displayed makes one feel so vulnerable and exposed but one has to be brave enough to push through and be true to yourself.
