"CANTANDO FEESKONSERT" 2 MAY 2026

Cantando@bloem community choir is proud to participate in the “Cantando Feeskonsert: Drie kore, Een stiger” on 2 May 2026. This year is the first time in the history of the three choirs that such an exceptional event is being presented in Bloemfontein.

The Cantando Feeskonsert brings a special musical experience to the stage on 2 May 2026, where three dynamic choirs Cantando@delta, Cantando@bloem and Cantando@algoa will perform together for the very first time. This unique celebration and gathering of choirs promises an evening of outstanding choral sound, passion and harmony. Each choir will present its own selection of works under the guidance of their own conductors, after which the evening will end on an impressive high with a powerful mass choir item conducted by Bouwer van Rooyen. He is also the founder of all three choirs.


More than one hundred choir members from these three community choirs will also participate in a packed choral weekend from 1-2 May to celebrate this exceptional choir leader’s dedication to community involvement in choral singing in Bloemfontein. An unforgettable festival of voices and opportunities to reunite friendships!

“Cantando@bloem is excited to host this historic event and create an occasion where choral singing and friendship celebrate. It is a special honour for me as conductor and choir leader to be part of the celebration in the seventeenth year of the Bloemfontein choir.” says Ilané van Wyk, choir leader of the Cantando@bloem choir.

The Cantando@delta choir was founded in the Vaal Triangle in 1988 with Cantando@bloem in 2009 and the Cantando@algo choir in 2016 in Port Elizabeth.

CANTANDO FEESKONSERT 2 MEI 2026

Cantando@bloem gemeenskapskoor is trots om aan die “Cantando Feeskonsert: Drie kore, Een stiger” op 2 Mei 2026 deel te neem. Vanjaar is die eerste keer in die geskiedenis van dié drie kore wat so ‘n uitsonderlike geleentheid in Bloemfontein aangebied word.

Die Cantando Feeskonsert bring ’n besonderse musikale belewenis na die verhoog op 2 Mei 2026, waar drie dinamiese kore Cantando@delta, Cantando@bloem en Cantando@algoa vir die heel eerste keer saam optree.

Hierdie unieke feesviering en samekoms van kore beloof ’n aand van uitstaande koorklank, passie en harmonie. Elke koor sal sy eie keur van werke aanbied onder leiding van hul eie dirigente, waarna die aand op ’n indrukwekkende hoogtepunt afsluit met ’n kragtige massa-item wat deur Bouwer van Rooyen gedirigeer word. Bouwer van Rooyen is ook die stigter van al drie kore.

Meer as een honderd koorlede van dié drie gemeenskapskore neem ook aan ‘n propvol koornaweek vanaf 1-2 Mei deel om hierdie uitsonderlike koorleier se toewyding aan gemeenskapsbetrokkenheid in koorsang in Bloemfontein te vier. ’n Onvergeetlike fees van stemme en geleenthede om vriendskappe te herenig!

“Cantando@bloem is opgewonde om hierdie historiese geleentheid aan te bied en ‘n geleentheid te skep waar koorsang en vriendskap feesvier. Ons moedig koorsang liefhebbers van Bloemfontein aan om die feeskonsent op 2 Mei by te woon en vroegtydig hul plekke te verseker. Dit is vir my as dirigent en koorleier ‘n besondere eer om in die sewentiende bestaansjaar van die Cantando@bloem, deel te wees van die feesviering.” sê Ilané van Wyk, koorleier van Cantando@bloem.

In 1988 is die Cantando@delta koor in die Vaaldriehoek gestig met Cantando@bloem in 2009 en in Port Elizabeth kom die Cantando@algo-koor in 2016 van die grond af.

Cantando@bloem is officially opening its doors to new talent, offering a major opportunity for adults in Bloemfontein to turn their passion for singing into a meaningful community experience!

Under the expert musical direction of Ilané van Wyk, the group is looking for dedicated singers across all vocal ranges, specifically seeking sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses who want to share in the power of harmony.

To accommodate prospective members, two audition dates have been scheduled at the Berg-en-dal Church in Bloemfontein.

The first opportunity takes place on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, starting at 18:00.

Because of high interest, an additional session has been arranged for Thursday, 22 January 2026, also beginning at 18:00.

If you are ready to make 2026 the year you find your musical home, you are encouraged not to wait!
