๐Ÿ’™ Thank You and Farewell, Mpho P**e! ๐Ÿ‘

Today we bid farewell to Mpho P**e, who has completed his 7-week Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement with the Artbank of South Africa at the National Museum, Bloemfontein.

Mpho is a third-year Diploma in Design and Studio Art: Visual Practice student at the Central University of Technology, with creative interests spanning painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, and 2D animation concept development. During his time with ArtbankSA, he demonstrated dedication, creativity, and a willingness to learn, making a valuable contribution to the programme.

Throughout his placement, Mpho assisted with a variety of important projects, including updating and verifying artwork and artist registers, supporting** pre-screening processes, contributing to acquisitions records, assisting with the handling and transportation of artworks, and participating in discussions on institutional social media best practices.**

His creative skills were evident in the design of promotional posters and brochures for ArtbankSA, including the Artist Career Development Workshop poster and the Quarter 1 brochure, where he helped present selected artworks in a professional and engaging format. His attention to detail also played an important role in maintaining accurate artwork records and supporting the programme's daily operations.

Thank you, Mpho, for your hard work, enthusiasm, and positive attitude over the past seven weeks. Your contributions from designing posters and brochures, capturing photographs, updating artwork registers, and assisting with pre-screenings, to supporting collections management have been greatly appreciated.

We wish you every success as you continue your studies and pursue your career in the creative industries. May this be the beginning of an exciting and rewarding journey.

Mahina Motaung joined the National Museum, Bloemfontein, as the Financial Administrator for Artbank of South Africa in August 2025. Since joining the team, she has brought a strong background in financial administration, project support, and public sector finance, contributing to the programme's operational excellence and continued growth.

A dedicated and results-driven finance professional, Mahina is passionate about continuous learning, accountability, and delivering high-quality work. She believes that collaboration, integrity, and innovation are key to achieving sustainable success and is committed to making a meaningful contribution to the arts and heritage sector.

Mahina holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of the Free State and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation. She has gained valuable experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, procurement, asset management, payroll support, and project finance through roles in both the public and private sectors. Proficient in accounting software such as Sage Pastel and QuickBooks, Mahina is recognized for her strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

As Financial Administrator: Artbank of South Africa, Mahina provides essential financial and administrative support to the programme. Her responsibilities include financial reporting, payment processing, procurement support, acquisitions administration, maintaining collections and asset records, coordinating funding processes, and supporting exhibitions and project implementation. Kamohelo Moloi joined the National Museum, Bloemfontein, as the Financial Administrator for Artbank of South Africa in May 2026. Since joining the team, he has brought a strong foundation in financial administration, project support, and public sector finance to the programme, contributing to its day-to-day operations and continued growth.

A dedicated and detail-oriented professional, Kamohelo is committed to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. He believes in building strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance in every aspect of his work.

Kamohelo holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of the Free State and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Management Accounting. In Witnesses, Franli Meintjes explores themes of vulnerability, memory, landscape, architecture, and transformation through immersive fibre-based installations. Drawing on personal experiences and imagined landscapes, the exhibition invites viewers into a world where sanctuary and uncertainty coexist, and where fragile forms carry traces of both the past and possible futures.
