Do you enjoy choral singing?

Audition for the CATHEDRAL SINGERS in 2019

The Cathedral Singers, a liturgical & concert chamber choir, has vacancies for all voice parts. Prospective members should preferably have previous choral experience, and be able to sight-read music at a basic level. Founded in 2009, the choir sings regularly during term, principally at Sunday evening services in Bloemfontein Anglican Cathedral. The choir also works with ensembles such as the Odeion Camerata and the Free State Symphony Orchestra. If you play an instrument, this is also to your advantage.

Membership is open to all persons residing in Bloemfontein during term. Commitments are on Thursdays from 5:15 – 7pm, and Sundays: 2:30-5pm, with additional times on occasion.

While rehearsals are focused and serious, there is a sense of fun and exploration too. All choristers will receive training in a professional and stimulating environment. Past highlights include Handel’s Messiah, Orff’s Carmina burana, and the Requiem settings of Mozart & Fauré.

Please contact Lance Phillip at [email protected] or 0824473071 for information, or to arrange an audition. In the meantime, please visit our website at www.cathedralsingers.co.za, where you can find information about the choir, view photos and access the YouTube channel.
