Cloud NO.1 . Cloud NO.1 is a earth art work which maps out the Savannah of the South African Free State. The barbwire previously a segregating line in the landscape transforms into a cloud hovering above the horizon. Re-placing and re-orientating the on viewer from Free State landscape, from enclosed claimed place to landscape enclosed between heaven and earth. The cloud consists out of intertwined barbwires which have been exposed to the rains throughout different years on property lines. Hence, one can read the amount of rains in the earth work in a map like manner. As rain data is exposed through the by rain oxidized wires. Some wires have turned deep red inalikeness to the Free State earth, others which seen more droughts kept their silver tones thereby reflecting the big sky, the other spectrum of gradients mimic the colours of dusk and dawn.
