Editing one of the skills you need to master when doing
photography, or well not master but get good at, your editing
skills should complement your shooting skills,
shot using the Olympus EM1X and the 60mm F2.8 sigma art lens, editing was done on capture one
shooting wise, shutter speed was at 1/250, this helps remove
any camera shake or slight movements on the subjects
aperture was at F3.2, this helped get the entire subject in
focus from the front to the back of the subject
ISO was set to 400, I like having my iso between 200 to around
640 when shooting, just adds that tiny bit of extra light and
removes some of the clinical sharpness when working with portraits
white balanced was locked at 6400k, or on most cameras believe this will be the white balance cloudy setting, having a consistent white balance makes
editing your photos supper easy
on the before and after the editing that was done was as follow
first I adjusted the white balance to correct skin tones
then corrected the exposure by dropped the highlights and whites by to -100 each
then added a tiny bit of focus on the subject by adjusted the vignetting by increasing it a tiny bit
completely skipped the sharpening and de-noise options as they where not needed at all
color adjustments was the place things pulled together for the edit
red tones, saturation increase a tiny bit, as well increased the overall brightness of the reds
orange tones, increased the brightness a tiny bit
yellow tones, dropped the saturation a bit and increased the brightness a tiny bit
green tones, dropped the saturation and brightness a little bit
teal tones, increased saturation and brightness a tiny bit
blue tones, dropped the saturation a tiny bit and increased the brightness
purple and pink tones, both increased brightness a tiny bit
and that was the entire edit
exporting was done simply by resizing
on the longest edge to 2048, dropping the quality and DPI to 84%,
supper important no additional sharpening was added when exporting
