🌧️ Important Update: Tonight’s Market Cancelled
We have a bit of a "good news, bad news" situation, Benoni.

The bad news: After being on-site this morning to assess the grounds, we’ve had to make the tough call to cancel tonight’s Benoni Night Market.

We know the sun is likely to make an appearance later today, and believe us, we’d much rather be out there with a craft beer in hand than writing this. However, the overnight rain has thoroughly soaked the field.

The Bigger Picture:
Because it's winter, the ground doesn't dry out like it does in the summer heat. Our hosts at Benoni Northerns provide us with a world-class sports facility, and our first priority is being responsible guests. Moving 140 vendor vehicles and thousands of feet across saturated turf would cause irreparable damage to the playing fields.

By protecting the grounds today, we ensure that we have a home for the Benoni Night Market for many years to come. It’s a bit of a "short-term pain for long-term gain" scenario, and we appreciate you seeing the bigger picture with us!

The wait is finally over. The gates open at 5pm today, and since tomorrow is a public holiday, there is absolutely no reason to hold back on the snacks.

We have moved our usual Friday slot to today, Thursday, 2nd April, to get the long weekend started a full 24 hours early. Whether you are here for the global street food, the boutique shopping, or just to sit on the grass and listen to some live acoustic sets, the atmosphere at Benoni Northerns is exactly where you want to be when the sun goes down.

We have lined up the best street food in the East Rand to help you kick off the long weekend 24 hours early. It is about ditching the kitchen, finding a spot on the grass, and actually enjoying the sunset with something delicious in your hand.
