Style is affordable

My passion for party planning started when I planned my 40th, I wanted it to be the best and most affordable party I have ever planned. It seemed to be challenging at first as South Africa wasn't into “theme parties” at that stage. My theme was “A night at the Oscars”. I had the invites professionally printed as evites were of no existence, red carpet sourced, huge Oscars were sourced, center pieces were strategically designed and made. The most challenging part was trying to find Hollywood backdrops. After many days of phoning around I eventually stumbled upon a very well hidden party shop that does the most amazing back drops, all hand painted. Slowly but surely my night at the Oscars was coming together. Trophies for various categories were purchased, ballot box was made so the guests could vote for their best dressed etc. Even certificates were printed to go with the trophies, I had left nothing out. We even had toothpicks on the table which to me is the smaller things that seem to not matter to most. Well my 40th was an absolute success everyone spoke about it for days months and even years. I was quiet proud of myself and my achievement and the cost that I managed to stick to. The most expensive part of the party was the catering that was R65.00 p/head and that was just a simple lamb spit with 3 salads. The only alcohol served was the champagne as all my guests were instructed to bring their own drinks. From there on my dream started I went on to plan my sons 21st, I've done 1st birthdays, baby showers, hen parties, surprise parties, parties on the spur of the moment and my biggest achievement so far is my best friends daughters wedding, but my nieces shower topped that as that was done in Rarotonga Cook Islands, yip we went international. Finally after helping family and friends with all their parties I have now decided to turn my passion into a reality and be the most affordable party and wedding planner yet. Its not always about the destination or venue, its about the person you have entrusted to make your dream a reality. And this I will endeavor to be my biggest priority.
