Nicola Power Photography From humble beginnings and still very much learning every day, but what a journey it has been so far. If you have wrinkles, there they will stay.

Every time I do a shoot, no matter who or what it is, I learn something. Whether it is what I can do to improve or simply seeing an image that I have taken and being ecstatic at how it looks. I have discovered that I am very comfortable in as natural a setting as possible, and even though I am still mastering the art of editing, with so much to learn, I will never take away the natural look of an image. They are a part of your journey. My love is to capture you, your family, staff, pets, being completely at ease in front of the lens. I find sometimes that those photos where you are totally unaware that the camera is even pointed in your direction, can be the most beautiful photos. Unposed and totally in the moment. I also adore photographing at events. Digital Documenting of your party, wedding, anything that you would like to look back on and see what happened on the day. If you like the sound of my style, contact me for a booking. I am willing to travel and always love going somewhere new and exciting for a shoot.

I have spent many hours recently digitizing photos taken of my Ferals in the years before digital cameras. A mammoth task that is ongoing. Thought I would share some of my favs over the coming weeks. Places we've lived, clothes they wore, schools, friends, family.

Looking into the backgrounds of the images I have found a comprehensive environmental catalogue of our lives. Which has been pretty amazing to look back on and remember many things I had forgotten.

A very delayed "honeymoon" kind of getaway to Sydney. Much culture and wonderful food were consumed. A highlight was meeting Ros, an artist living in the Blue Mountains who paints the most beautiful flowers. So warm and welcoming, a very special visit!
Cultural visits to the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden, Brett Whiteley Studio, Sydney Opera House. An amazing lunch at Pilu at Freshwater, obligatory visit to Bondi and managed some great shots of the iceberg pool! A fabulous stay at the Shangri-La Sydney with breathtaking views of the harbour.

Somewhere in my archives, there are photos of Amelia when she was a little girl who used to dance. Now, she is a beatiful young woman ready to leave school! My brain has a hard time figuring out where all that time has gone.....

It's Henry's world and we were just living in it at the beach yesterday. He has eyes that just melt your heart.

I have known his mum Morgan since she was only a little bit older than Henry is now!! A fact which blows my mind just a little bit 😊

Magazine hot off the press !! This is a condensed version of the book, with less photos, and standardish magazine size! I may have a copy of this stashed in my bag as I wander the Heritage Fair this Friday 😬
So if you want to have a squiz, ask me ☺️
Happy to take orders for the hardcover and magazine. The book will be $245, a 12 x 12” size, 150 pages. The magazine has 100 pages, $45.

Please message me or email, [email protected] if you are wanting to order. Makes it easier for me in case requests get lost on the page.

Super happy with the quality of both prints. Lovely thick paper with a matte/lustre appearance.

I can also pop through a sample of your own part of the book if you are wanting to see the layout.

And I have decided that I will start The Front Door Project #2, so hit me up via message or email if you would like to participate. Very keen to have a wide and varied demographic, and happy to travel out to properties etc .

☺️

Got my tech issues sorted and wrapped up this edit today!! Over the moon with the results!!

I'm tossing around the idea of doing another Front Door Project. Keen to hear thoughts from everyone. What do you all think ?

Cannot wait to see the magazine when it arrives, hopefully Wednesday. Also trying to come up with a way to have a public gathering so people can have a sticky beak at the book and the magazine. Any ideas on how I can make this happen?

Have a great week
