With a final stroke of the brush, I’m satisfied with this painting. Thank you to Rose Ellen Photography for the helping with the inspiration.

The image is of cattle getting mustered up one of the Sandhills at Devonport Downs Station, which I had the opportunity to visit recently.

The image is primarily watercolour and I used a fine tip marker to put in the final detail.

This image was one which I chose to take my time to put it down and revisit it for short periods of time. Often just sitting it up and stepping back to assess the image as a whole.

Time to add some detail into this larger piece of cattle getting mustered over one of the Sandhills at Devonport Downs Station.

I will add some fine line detail into the painting using my handy Artline fine tipped pen. I am still keeping everything loose, and I am using the natural flow of the watercolour to discern shapes within the painting.

I’m currently winding up my trip to the wet tropics, I’ll be heading south for the watercolour evening event at Emu Apple Arts in Charters Towers on Thursday evening.
