Emory Dark Arts is a collective of individuals -- artists and not, mentally ill and not -- who believe in the value of artistic platforms for meaningful, honest communication about mental health. DA seeks to promote initiatives that de-stigmatize mental illness and generate impactful change on campus and beyond. The group is a part of a larger arts movement on campus housed within the student grou

We welcome anybody with whatever background in the arts, whatever background in the context of mental health, with whatever level of interest in being open or not about their experiences. No matter where you fall on any of those questions, we are a supportive space for those who seek it, a platform for those who wish to use it and build it, and a means of support for those who wish to remain behind the scenes but still play an integral role in meaningful mental health advocacy. New members are joining all the time and EVERYONE is welcome regardless of level of interest, ability to "commit," and however "late" in the school year it may be. Are you stuck in a cycle of perfectionism? ☁️

If so, know you’re not alone!
People can fall into the cycle of perfectionism for many reasons, and breaking free can be challenging once they are in it 🤫.

Ultimately, many perfectionists are controlled by fear. They fear making mistakes, not being good enough, having people view them as failures, etc 🫣.

Interestingly, being a perfectionist is something that many people celebrate. A perfectionist is often someone who is looked at as very successful and hard-working, but the downfalls of perfectionism can actually be very challenging for someone to deal with 😰
