Fox Cubs Playgroup

For our last and very special session of the term, we made so many different Christmas crafts! A Cyprus branch makes a perfect miniature Christmas tree for your child's bedroom. Pinecones are so versatile for bauble making, and we also made some traditional Christian decorations: a mini Christingle and Advent wreath to help count down the Sundays until the Big One. Last but not least- ivy wreaths!

We're taking a break for now but we will be back in Spring with more stories, crafts and mini beast friends. Thank you for all your support and Merry Christmas!

What a fantastic half term we're having! All our Fox Cubs loved finding enough water to rescue the poor beached whale. It's been great seeing how the different age groups who came responded differently to the crisis :)

What's been really lovely is that there are plenty of real snails in the garden to help act out the "flock on the rock" and the little protagonist who wanted to go on the journey... They say never work with children or animals but I say go for it!

Stanley's Stick is such an inspirational story about the power of imaginative play. Today we fished, rode hobby horses, drew on the sand, created little friends (credit to mum Amy for the leaf skirts- genius!) painted some of the creatures we met in the garden and stirred up some delicious mushroom soup. Phew!

We had so much fun at Fox Cubs this week with a sing song story about a nasty little rabbit who refuses to learn his lesson! A truly interactive story activity and lovely crafts making nature fairies and googly Goonie figures to take home. Not to mention meeting all our creepy crawly friends, ladybirds, worms, and the very busy spider. One little lad had so much fun he didn't want to leave!

This week it's Three Little Pigs Week! Everyone in the garden is building- me, the children, the orb web spiders... Summer may be over but there's still plenty of activity here at Fox Cubs 🐖🐷🐦👧

Today's story was Eric Carle's "Bad Tempered Ladybird", but we found all the ladybirds very friendly indeed! Story time, bug safari and clay craft - it's hard to tell which we enjoyed the most.

Our "Hedgehog and Hare" Fox Pups session, beautifully captured by Avernus Media. All the babies enjoyed the interactive storytelling around the tuff tray, followed by free play in the beautiful garden with water area and mud kitchen OR creating their own little hedgehog to take home! We made a lot of memories that day :)
