Meet Yang Lan, one of three artists selected for our first artist residency programme, which is now in its second week at our gallery warehouse in Al Quoz.

Yang’s practice explores the emotional and atmospheric dimensions of landscape through oil painting, printmaking, and digital experimentation. Working between observation and intuitive abstraction, she engages with shifting perspectives, ecological transformation, and memory. She aims to capture the motion, energy, and atmosphere of the environments she encounters, having lived, worked and taught in Jordan, China, US, and Canada.

A look back at Omran Younis’ solo exhibition at Fann À Porter - Rise of the Cactus, Spring 2024. This was a new body of work which started in 2020: acrylic and mixed media paintings on canvas and paper works that explore the form and symbolism behind the cactus.

“Not only does the cactus resist through its protective spines, but it can also form a protective fence around more gentle plants, sheltering them as a mother protects her children. As with everything I paint, whether cacti or the faces of screaming people, it shows the complexity of life” - Omran Younis

Learn more about Lynn Issa, one of our Summer 2026 - Lynn is a Syrian visual artist based in Sharjah, UAE.

Her work largely explores the female body as a site of tension, shaped by societal expectations and internalized perceptions. She creates exaggerated forms that fill her compositions and emphasize heaviness and fullness. She applies expressive, free mark-making with muted colours, to play with perspective, using the female form as a focal point.
