My latest art piece “Thickly Settled.” 24x36 Acrylic and pastel. I framed it in a white frame for a more coastal vibe. One of two of mine that will be on display at the SC State Fair Cantey Bldg. until the fair season ends. So if you visit the fair this year I hope you guys will check it out!
My inspiration: When visiting Cape Cod this summer there were yellow road signs marked “Thickly Settled” and I didn’t know what it meant. Later found out it means areas of highly dense neighborhoods and to have caution for pedestrians, bikers, etc. I decided to do it in the SC coast colors and palm trees since it was for the SC state fair. Also, it depicts the growing residential developments happening on the southeast coast.

Framing a loved ones’s hand written note is the best way to preserve the memory. This one is a list of promises my client’s late husband wrote on notebook paper. Framed with a linen mat and a Larson-Juhl animal print frame made it extra special. My client placed it on an easel by her kitchen sink so that she could see it everyday.🖼️🩷

Veteran’s Day Memorandum shadowbox framing.
The story from my client was that her late husband, Mr. Carter, wore this shirt when deployed to Vietnam. She said that each day he would hang this shirt on the back of a chair to dry because it would be soaked from all the sweating that he endured. The next day, after drying out, it would be stiff as a board from the build up of salt.
While framing this one, I must say I had to wipe away my tears as I attached the dog tags.😔
