I found some footage from Decibel 2007. My very first big festival where I got to perform. Check out this video: the people, the clothes, the music, the vibe... and me, about 40 kilos heavier back then. 😂 The quality sucks, but it was filmed on a handycam!

I still remember like it was yesterday. Loads of friends and familiar faces had come especially to see my Decibel debut. The JUMP area, called UP at the time, was absolutely boiling, but the atmosphere was incredible. No exaggeration: at that moment, it was the best day of my life.After my set, everyone kept handing me free b**rs. I don’t think they ever tasted that good. 😂

I haven’t missed a single edition of Decibel. In that sense, B2S is also my most loyal “client”. Since 2006, I’ve had the pleasure of playing for them several times a year. Pretty special when you think about it.

And of course, I’m back again this year! On Friday I’ll be playing the Mainstage together with Ruthless, and on Saturday you can find me at P***ylounge.

Last weekend, a bra was thrown straight into my face. When women start throwing their lingerie at you, you know you’ve really made it, right? In 25 years of doing this, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing it maybe three or four times. Not a bad score, although it does put my superstar status into perspective.

Mostly, I just find it hilarious. Sure, it’s a little weird, but I can definitely appreciate it! Except… for that one time, about ten years ago. Because on that particular night, one bra became the starting point of a truly unfortunate chain of events.

I was playing a gig somewhere near Eindhoven and a few drunk student frat boys were throwing b**r coasters around. So I grabbed the mic and said something along the lines of: “If you’re going to throw something at me, I’d rather have a bra.”

Not long after that, I spotted a young woman taking my request VERY seriously. She half-undressed and launched her over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder in my direction. Her E-cup Hunkemöller bra smashed into two full glasses of b**r, which then proceeded to dump their entire contents all over the mixer. I desperately tried to save the situation with a cloth, but it was too late. Bam. Music gone. Equipment dead. Party over!

The club owner was furious with me. “What kind of idiot asks people to start throwing bras?” I can still hear him saying it, haha. The boyfriend of the bra thrower wasn’t too happy either. “What the hell do you want with my girlfriend’s bra?” “Well… you should probably ask HER that,” I stammered.

And just when I thought the evening couldn’t get any more ridiculous, the lingerie terrorist herself came over. I assumed she wanted to apologise for destroying the mixer.

Nope.

She wanted her bra back.

Because apparently… it was VERY expensive!?!?

Everyone knows the timeless classic "The First Rebirth" by Jones & Stephenson, right? The original is simply unbeatable, although there have been some great remixes over the years.

I've wanted to give it a shot myself for ages, but somehow I could never make it work. Until today?

Anyway... you be the judge. What do you think of my humble attempt to give this iconic track a jumpstyle twist?
