Great American Comic Con would like to thank everyone involved with this years show. First, thank you to our great fans who came out to support the show. Without you, there is no show. Second, thank you to our great guests who came out to meet their fans. Again without you, there is no show. Third, thank you to our great vendors and artist alley who came out to offer your products and talent. And last but certainly not least and just as important, thank you to all of our staff and volunteers. Without you, this show is crazy and impossible to put on. This was our fourth year and with each year we learn and get a little bit better. And this year is no exception. This show is a labor of love and while we are just a mom and pop organization, that doesn’t mean we lack the desire to continue to grow this show and make it better.

With that said, we heard many people talking about their experience at the show, both the good and yes also the bad. Our goal and promise is to always try to do better and listen to your input. So let the suggestions begin.

I would ask two things for anyone wanting to suggest ideas. One, remember that there are always reasons for the decisions that have been made in the past, but many times those outside of the staff don’t know why certain decisions have been made, such as we are limited as to where we can hold the show. Someone would say, hold it at one of the Casino’s. Note that the space at the casino facilities have two problems. One is the casino REQUIRES the convention to GUARANTEE a specific number of sleeping rooms usually starting at 100 rooms per night. That means the convention must GUARANTEE the casino $15,000-$20,000 per day in hotel room rentals. But since the majority of our attendees are LOCALS and don’t need to stay in a hotel, that means the convention would have to pay the casino that money. And that is on top of the cost of the event space, which the casino charges more then the current location of the show, Las Vegas Convention Center. One off-strip casino wants 5 times what we are paying now and that event space is not as nice.

Next is advertising. We advertised on Social Media, Radio and TV as well as websites promoting different conventions around the country. So if you say, you didn’t see any promoting, there could be many different reasons for that including you may not be in the groups of targets used in the promoting such as comic books and conventions.

So I ask please keep the suggestions positive and constructive as anything negative or demeaning will be deleted.

And finally, we are open to suggestions for the 2020 Guest List. But keep in mind that names like Frank Miller or Jim Lee come with a very high price tag. Great American has built its reputation on bringing out guests who either have never been to Las Vegas or have not been in the last several years. Our goal is to give you, the supporters, the chance to meet guests that you haven’t seen before. Thank you.
