Dead Playwrights Repertory Come celebrate life with the Dead. The Dead Playwrights, that is. But why (mostly) dead playwrights? Each production run will showcase two plays.

A motley group of performers, united by a common love of acting and classic Theatre, banded together to form the Dead Playwrights Repertory. Their mission: to bring to life the words of long dead, recently dead, and occasionally not actually dead playwrights. DPR’s minimalist staging is designed to stimulate the imagination using
words and actions, rather than elaborate backdrops, to set the scene. The ‘thrust’ staging offers an intimate setting that really puts the audience in the middle of the action. These are the playwrights who captured the timeless aspects of human nature that are still relevant today. DPR hopes to breathe life into these works by not only digging up 'dead' plays but giving the more well-known plays a different spin. As for the ‘repertory’ part of the name, the Dead Playwrights Repertory season will be composed of two production runs; one in the fall and one in early spring. Both shows will feature the same cast, but in different roles. During every production the DPR house band, Antic Disposition, will entertain the audience twenty minutes before the show starts and during the intermissions, regaling the crowds with fun and thematically appropriate, yet modern songs. Ultimately the goal of the Dead Playwrights Repertory is not just to educate or enlighten, but to entertain; wisely understanding that both education and enlightenment are generally a by-product of all good entertainment anyway.
