Connecting Through Culture

Connecting Through Culture Building community through culture, creativity, and connection.

This is what happens when a community comes together and local leaders support new ideas.

Our first Bilingual Cultural Celebration was successful because of the incredible support we received from people and organizations across Thomasville, High Point, Lexington, and the surrounding community.

Different cultures, backgrounds, organizations, families, artists, and community leaders came together for one purpose: connection.

This is exactly what Connecting Through Culture was created to do — build meaningful relationships through culture, creativity, and community.

Today, CTC read to 100 kids and every child received a book to take home!

Yes, 100 kids at an elementary school in Statesville!

Our President, Lina Lozada, and Vice President, Pastor Ruben, did an amazing job reading, connecting, and spending time with the students.

At CTC, our bilingual mission is about more than speaking two languages. it’s about building bridges between cultures and celebrating our heritage!

What a beautiful way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, through books, language, culture, and connection.

CTC’s intention has never been to create an entirely new organization or establish another art academy. Our goal is to build partnerships with the City of Thomasville, other nonprofits, schools, businesses, and community organizations to create meaningful connections across different cultures.

We want to bring people together, strengthen existing community resources, and create opportunities for collaboration, cultural understanding, and shared experiences. Our purpose is not to compete with existing organizations but to work alongside them to better serve our community.

I went to the City Council meeting to provide a report and give a two-minute speech about our art workshop!

I was grateful to have some of our participating families and our wonderful art assistant there alongside me, representing the program and the people who helped make it possible.

I am forever thankful for the support we have received from our community and local leaders.

This is truly teamwork. When families, volunteers, community organizations, and local leaders come together, the entire community benefits; especially the leaders of tomorrow: our youth.

Our very first Bilingual Youth Choir rehearsal!

Last Thursday, we officially began this exciting new journey at the Arts Academy at Memorial! A special thank-you to the Thomasville Police Department for joining us and supporting our young singers.

Through music, we’re bringing children, families, and our community together, one song at a time!
