The Freedom Theatre Joins Major Solidarity Event in Rome for Gaza and Palestine

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, The Freedom Theatre (TFT) from Jenin Refugee Camp will take part in the large public event “Non in Mio Nome” (Not In My Name), held in Piazza San Paolo, Rome. Organized by a coalition of Italian civil society organizations led by Schierarsi, the event brings together prominent voices and musicians in solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian people.

TFT will contribute a live Zoom intervention at 16:35 (Rome time), offering a ten-minute message from Jenin, sharing insights into the role of cultural resistance in the face of ongoing occupation and violence. The intervention highlights the theatre’s continued work despite repeated incursions, destruction of its premises, and the challenges facing artists and youth under siege.

This powerful event will also feature speeches and performances by UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, journalist Alessandro Di Battista and Rula Jeabral, artists like Gemitaiz, Margherita Vicario, Mannarino, and representatives from Médecins Sans Frontières and the Palestinian community in Italy.
