L'ultima giornata del Ring di Wagner è in scena alla Scala prima singolarmente e poi, a marzo, con il resto della Tetralogia. Come per gli altri titoli anche per Götterdämmerung la direzione dei complessi musicali è affidata ad Alexander Soddy in alternanza con Simone Young mentre la regia è firmata da David McVicar.
Il cast vede schierate alcune delle migliori voci di questo repertorio come Camilla Nylund (Brünnhilde), Klaus Florian Vogt (Sigfried), Günther Groissböck (Hagen), Russell Braun (Gunter), Johannes Martin Kränzle (Alberich) e Olga Bezsmertna (Guturne / Terza Norma).

La recita del 17 febbraio sarà trasmessa in live streaming su LaScala.tv dalle 17:45 e resterà disponibile per una settimana.

The last day of Wagner's Ring is performed at La Scala first individually and then, in March, with the rest of the Tetralogy. As with the other titles, for Götterdämmerung the direction of the musical ensembles is entrusted to Alexander Soddy alternating with Simone Young while the direction is signed by David McVicar. Questa sera alla Scala l'ultima delle due, ormai tradizionali, serate dedicate a Carla Fracci che il Teatro dedica ad una figura cardine della storia della danza, fonte di ispirazione per generazioni di giovani, non solo nel mondo del balletto. Nel 90° dalla nascita e nel 5° dalla scomparsa il direttore Frédéric Olivieri prosegue l'iniziativa degli anni precedenti di Manuel Legris proponendo Défilé dal Tannhäuser di Wagner, il Grand Pas de deux da Il Corsaro di Petipa, un estratto dalla Francesca da Rimini di Pistoni, ed uno dal terzo atto de La bella addormentata di Nureyev, il passo a due dal secondo atto di Giselle, il passo a due dal secondo atto di Onegin, il Gran Pas de deux del Don Chisciotte ed infine il Bolero di Ravel.
Oltre alle compagini e ai solisti scaligeri anche alcune stelle della danza internazionale si esibiscono nel programma.

This evening at La Scala, the last of two now traditional evenings dedicated to Carla Fracci, a pivotal figure in the history of dance, a source of inspiration for generations of young people, not only in the world of ballet. On the 90th anniversary of her birth and the 5th anniversary of her death, director Frédéric Olivieri continues Manuel Legris's initiative from previous years, presenting a parade from Wagner's Tannhäuser, the Grand Pas de Deux from Petipa's Le Corsaire, an excerpt from Pistoni's Francesca da Rimini, and one from the third act of Nureyev's The Sleeping Beauty, the pas de deux from the second act of Giselle, the pas de deux from the second act of Onegin, the Grand Pas de Deux from Don Quixote, and finally Ravel's Boléro. In addition to La Scala's ensembles and soloists, several international dance stars will also perform on the program.

La bella addormentata è in scena alla Scala fino al 13 gennaio dopo aver inaugurato la stagione di balletto con una serata dedicata a Giorgio Armani. Il celebre balletto di Rudolf Nureyev tratto dalla fiaba di Perrault è riproposto nell'ormai classico allestimento del '93 firmato da Franca Squarciapino.
A vestire i panni dei protagonisti si alternano tre differenti cast con Nicoletta Manni, Timofej Andrijashenko, Alice Mariani, Navrin Turnbull, Martina Arduino e Mattia Semperboni.

Sleeping Beauty is on stage at La Scala until January 13th, after opening the ballet season with an evening dedicated to Giorgio Armani. Rudolf Nureyev's famous ballet, based on Perrault's fairy tale, is revived in Franca Squarciapino's now classic production.
Three different casts take turns in the leading roles: Nicoletta Manni, Timofej Andrijashenko, Alice Mariani, Navrin Turnbull, Martina Arduino, and Mattia Semperboni.

Questa sera si concludono le rappresentazioni de Una Lady Macbeth del distretto di Mcensk di Dmitrij Šostakovič che ha inaugurato la nuova stagione lo scorso Sant'Ambrogio diretta dal M° Riccardo Chailly in un nuovo allestimento firmato dal regista Vasily Barkhatov.
La vicenda, piuttosto cruda, tratta dall'omonima novella di Nikolaj Leskov è animata dalle voci di Sara Jakubiak, Alexander Roslavets e Najmiddin Mavlyanov affiancati da un ampio cast.

This evening concludes the performances of Dmitry Shostakovich's A Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, which opened the new season last Sant'Ambrogio, conducted by Maestro Riccardo Chailly in a new production by director Vasily Barkhatov. The rather raw story, based on Nikolai Leskov's novella of the same name, is brought to life by the voices of Sara Jakubiak, Alexander Roslavets, and Najmiddin Mavlyanov, supported by a large cast.

Questa sera Lorenzo Viotti dirige il Concerto di Natale di quest'anno che è dedicato alla musica francese con Les Animaux modèles di Poulenc e la Messe solennelle de Saint-Cécile di Gounod. Ad eseguire il programma saranno i complessi scaligeri e le voci di Krassimira Stoyanova, Julien Behr e Markus Eiche.
Il concerto verrà trasmesso in diretta radiofonica su Radio3 e sul circuito euroradio, inoltre il 24 dicembre alle 10:40 su Rai 1 e RaiPlay dove resterà disponibile per due settimane.

Performing the program will be the La Scala ensemble and the voices of Krassimira Stoyanova, Julien Behr, and Markus Eiche. The concert will be broadcast live on Radio3 and the Euroradio network, and on December 24th at 10:40 a.m. on Rai 1 and RaiPlay, where it will be available for two weeks.

Vicinanza, affetto e auguri di pronta guarigione al M° Riccardo Chailly, colpito da un malore ieri sera durante la seconda rappresentazione de "Una Lady Macbeth del distretto di Mcensk" di Šostakovič che ha portato all'interruzione della recita dopo il secondo atto.

Ieri sera si è aperta la stagione 2025/2026 del Teatro alla Scala, in scena Una Lady Macbeth del distretto di Mcensk di Dmitrij Šostakovič in occasione dei cinquant'anni dalla morte del compositore. Trionfatore della serata il M° Riccardo Chailly al suo ultimo 7 dicembre da direttore musicale che ha prestato la sua bacchetta a questo complesso e forte capolavoro del '900. Assieme a lui la protagonista Sara Jakubiak nei panni di Katerina Izmajlova ed un numerossisimo cast che assieme a coro e orchestra sarà impegnato con questo titolo nelle repliche del 10, 13, 16, 19, 23 e 30 dicembre.
L'allestimento è stato firmato dal giovane regista russo Vasily Barkhatov che si è avvalso delle scene di Zinovy Margolin e i costumi di Olga Shaishmelashvili.
Appuntamento con la prossima con Otello di Verdi a Sant'Ambrogio 2026.

Last night, La Scala's 25/26 season opened with the staging of Dmitry Shostakovich's A Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the composer's death. The evening's triumph was Maestro Riccardo Chailly, his last performance as music director on December 7th, conducting this complex and powerful 20th-century masterpiece. He was joined by Sara Jakubiak, the title character, as Katerina Izmailova, and a large cast, along with the chorus and orchestra, will perform this work in performances on December 10th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 23rd, and 30th.
The production was designed by the young Russian director Vasily Barkhatov, with sets by Zinovy Margolin and costumes by Olga Shaishmelashvili.
Next will be Verdi's Otello at Sant'Ambrogio 2026.

The opera will be available for two weeks on RaiPlay.

Questa sera si inaugura la Stagione 2025/2026 del Teatro alla Scala con Una Lady Macbeth del distretto di Mcensk di Dmitrij Šostakovič nel cinquantenario dalla scomparsa dell'autore. L'opera, tratta dall'omonima novella di Nikolaj Leskov, vede come protagonista una giovane sposa, interpretata da Sara Jakubiak, che con la complicità dell’amante uccide il marito e il tirannico suocero, ma viene scoperta e finisce per suicidarsi in Siberia, tradita da tutti. Al debutto nel 1934 questo titolo ebbe enorme successo ma due anni dopo fu vittima della stroncatura del regime di Stalin. Questa sera sul podio dei complessi scaligeri il direttore musicale M° Riccardo Chailly mentre a firmare la messa in scena è il regista Vasily Barkhatov.

L'opera verrà trasmessa in diretta su Rai 1, Radio3 e RaiPlay (disponibile per 15 gg). Inoltre sarà diffusa in televisione, radio e streaming in tutto il mondo e verrà proiettata in molti cinema e luoghi della città di Milano dall'Ottagono della Galleria Vittorio Emanuele al Carcere di S. Vittore, dal Teatro dal Verme al Conservatorio e nei quartieri di tutti i municipi.

L'opera è diretta dal M° Riccardo Chailly che guida i complessi scaligeri in questa nuova avventura del repertorio russo in occasione dei cinquant'anni dalla morte dell'autore.
