This time-lapse video shows the Dragon cargo spacecraft approaching the International Space Station (ISS) over the Indian Ocean, passing over the Himalayas into China, and then docking above the Pacific Ocean at sunset on May 17, 2026.

The Dragon spacecraft carries a total of 2,948 kg (6,500 pounds) of cargo, including 618 kg (1,363 pounds) of crew supplies, 832 kg (1,834 pounds) of scientific research equipment, 128 kg (282 pounds) of spacewalk gear, 469 kg (1,034 pounds) of spacecraft hardware, and 84 kg (186 pounds) of computer resources.

It will remain docked at the ISS for about a month before returning to a splashdown off the coast of California 🇺🇸.

🍓 June 29 — Strawberry Moon
The first full moon of summer arrives on June 29. Its name comes from Native American traditions, marking the season when wild strawberries were ready to harvest. This full moon will travel unusually low across the sky, often appearing larger and glowing with warm golden and orange colors near the horizon.

🦌 July 29 — Buck Moon
July's full moon is known as the Buck Moon. It gets its name from male deer, or bucks, whose antlers are fully growing during this time of year. Shining during the heart of summer, this moon is a classic seasonal favorite.

🐟 August 28 — Sturgeon Moon
The final full moon of summer is the Sturgeon Moon, named after the large freshwater fish that were traditionally caught in late summer. This year's event will be even more exciting, as a deep partial lunar eclipse will darken nearly 96% of the Moon, creating a stunning celestial display.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR — THE STRAWBERRY MOON IS COMING. 🌕🍓✨

On June 29, 2026, the sky will glow with the beautiful Strawberry Moon, one of the most loved Full Moons of the year.

Despite its name, the Moon won’t actually turn into a strawberry color. The name comes from the early summer strawberry harvest season, but near the horizon, the Full Moon can still appear warm, golden, orange, or softly pink as it rises.
