Seashore at Tafua-Tai, Savai’i, 1902-05
Scientist and photographer, Dr Otto Tetens, wrote on the back of this photo that it was taken at Tafua, South Savai’i, and showed the washing and bathing area. He noted that in the foreground a young boy was scooping water from a well, while in the distance was the surf from the reef. (Thanks to Ludwig Wälder for assistance with the translation.)
