Back to one of my favorites, Paganini Liszt Etude No. 6.

Lately I try to off-load my techniques, not only with this piece but with other pieces as well. The goal is to prioritize lightness and looseness, meanwhile trying to keep a decent level of accuracy (still working on that).

It’s much better to focus on the shaping of the whole phrase, highlighting only the important notes, rather than hyper-focus on every single note there is.

The tempo could be more contained so the music can breathe. The design of dynamics variations could be more well-defined so as not to appear “flat”.

Chopin Etude Op. 25 No. 6, or “Double Thirds”

One of Chopin’s most unforgiving études. Not because of speed, but because of microscopic control: every pair of thirds must stay even, clean, and still sing. This recording was being recorded in one take as part of my cold practicing, aiming to build performing reflex and simulate a quasi-stress test for my nervous system. I hope to have it officially recorded at a later date.
