One of the most wonderful projects we have ever created. ❤️
This custom-made set of mattress and cushion covers was made from hand-embroidered Hmong textile from Vietnam. Every single side was fully embroidered with a variety of rich traditional motifs, bringing together different patterns and colours throughout the entire set.
A big thank you to our fabulous client from the Middle East for trusting us and giving us the chance to create something so special. We were excited and a little nervous from the moment we started until we finally packed and sent them.
It's so interesting to turn a traditional textile into something completely new: a set of home furnishings for a different living space. We also felt so proud to imagine these pieces of traditional Hmong textile travelling so far from Vietnam and becoming part of someone's home. And when our client told us how much they loved them, we were simply happy. That moment made all the hard and careful work worthwhile.
For us, this is what handmade home decor can be: not just something beautiful to put in a room, but something carrying the story, craftsmanship, and character of the people who made it.
