Caribbean Music Institute Orchestra trumpet section this past weekend for the Playing along with the master was a huge learning experience! My brother and incredible trumpeter was leading the section. .tpt playing his butt off and the young gunner, 13 year old trumpeter and feature soloist of the night,

Meet our Opening Act: Steel Pan Special, under the direction of Victor Provost— an award-winning steel pannist, composer, and bandleader has assembled some of the VI’s finest pan players who together, continue to help change perceptions about steel drums, using them in jazz and pop music. Featured members include Le'Roi Simmonds, Eljhaie Brathwaite, & Kevin Williams accompanied by Josh Farrell, Uriel Rogers & Alex Brown.

Join us TOMORROW, Saturday May 27th at the Frederiksted Promenade (Verne I. Richards Memorial Park). Festival grounds open at 5:30 PM.

Happening TOMORROW! Join us for the third installment of the U.S. Virgin Islands Caribbean Music Festival on the island of St. Croix! This time, witness the public debut of the Caribbean Music Institute Orchestra (CMIO) led by world-renowned Jon Faddis.

Festival grounds open at 5:30 PM on Saturday, May 27, with the opening of vendor booths and the performance of the Rising Stars STX.

📍Location: Frederiksted Promenade (Verne I. Richards Memorial Park)

At 6:30 PM gracing the stage as our Opening Act is The Steel Pan Ensemble under the direction of award-winning steel pannist, composer, and bandleader Victor Provost (STJ), who has helped to change global perceptions about steel drums by using them in jazz and pop music.
