Fall Registration is OPEN at Caribbean Dance School!

For 50 years, Caribbean Dance School has been a place where young dancers can learn, grow, build confidence, and experience the joy and discipline of dance. Now, we’re welcoming a new generation of students into the Caribbean Dance family.

Classes are available for students ages 2½ and up, with training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Afro-Caribbean, Hip Hop and more.

178 years after our ancestors marched to Fort Frederik and demanded their freedom, we continue to honor their courage through movement, music, and memory.

For nearly 50 years, Caribbean Dance School has remained committed to preserving and celebrating the history, culture, and spirit of the Virgin Islands through dance.

This image is from “Our Beginning, The Struggle, Unbroken…”, a three-part ballet choreographed by our Artistic Director, Curllis Solomon-John, commemorating the 175th Anniversary of Virgin Islands Emancipation.

From our beginnings in Africa…
to the Akwamu Revolt of 1733…
to the Emancipation of 1848…
to the Fireburn led by Queen Mary and the Three Queens…
to Queen Coziah’s Dollar fo’ Dollar Strike…

Their stories continue to live within us.

Today, we remember those who refused to accept bo***ge, celebrate the strength of those who came before us, and recommit ourselves to preserving Virgin Islands history through the arts for generations to come.

Happy Virgin Islands Emancipation Day.

Freedom is not simply inherited. It is remembered, protected, and passed on.

The curtain may have closed on our 2026 Student Showcase, but our gratitude continues to shine brightly.
